Offered are 6 vintage flat cup and saucer sets crafted by the Syracuse China Co (U.S.A.) in the discontinued Aruba pattern of Carefree Calypso in blue and brown. This pattern was only available in 1970 according to Replacements. These aged items are in lovely condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, staining, or crazing observed with little to no bottom wear, utensil marks, or abrasions.
They appear to me to be stoneware even though they are made by the Syracuse China Co, and as is typical with other stoneware serving ware certain manufacturing anomalies can be expected. I have captured a few of these suspected examples in the photos, which I believe adds to their character.
Cup height is 3 ¼ inch and width is 3 inches. Saucer diameter is 5 7/8 inches. Available only in 1970.
These retro cup & saucer sets would make a nice addition to an Aruba pattern collection or as part of your own unique mix-and-match and would be perfect for adding a vintage vibe to your collection.
